Days 1 to 10 before moving – preparations. There is a lot on your mind when moving. Below, you will find checklists with tips and points we have prepared for you to make your move as smooth as possible.

9 days remaining

1. Sort your old clothes, books and other things to be removed or donated.
2. Have your rugs, carpets etc. dry cleaned.

8 days remaining

1. Register the change of address with your Post Office, banks, insurance companies, revenue office, insurance associations, newspapers etc.
2. Cancel your electricity, gas, garbage collection, television, cable TV subscriptions. Order new subscriptions to your new address.
3. Announce the day of your new phone number hook-up.
4. Terminate fuel company contracts etc.

7 days remaining

1. Arrange a disassembly and maintenance of fixed household appliances, satellite dishes etc.
2. Order cleaning assistance. Cleaning can be booked through our company.
3. Organise animal transport.

6 days remaining

1. Go through your attic, cellar, garage or storage. Sort and clean.
2. Put everything to be thrown away into garbage bags.

5 days remaining

Small things of great value - an important note. Collect all your jewellery, bank/cheque books and valuable documents in a secure location. On the moving day, you will have them with you in your own hand luggage.

4 days remaining – time to rest

1. Spend this day informing your family and friends of your address change.
2. Check if moving in should go as planned.

Three days remaining

1. Pack your clothes and underwear you will need in the next few days.
2. Pack your books, folders, magazines, CDs etc.
3. Pack soft items, such as shoes, hats, bags etc.
4. Organise a disassembly of complicated curtains and equipment.

Two days remaining

1. Go through your kitchen utensils.
2. Pack what you will need for the next few days.
3. Pack glass and china (if you are packing).
4. Clear shelves and cupboards.
5. Install an external TV aerial.

1 day remaining

1. Collect keys to your house, attic and other rooms.
2. Make sure you have the keys to your new house.
3. Check if everything has been done according to the checklist.

0 days remaining - the big moving day

Here is when the TRUCHEL GROUP takes over the hard part. Our competent staff will attend to lifting, transporting and placing. When the preparations are over, you only need to:
1. Show our team manager the packed items which you know are particularly fragile.
2. Check whether all areas are emptied before the removal truck leaves.
3. Provide guidance as to where your household appliances should be put in your new house.
